The jeep eases onto a river of sand as the sun slides toward the horizon, turning each dune into a ridge of molten gold. You feel the vehicle pitch and climb; the desert pushes back with the same steady rhythm the wind has used for millennia. Yes—tell your driver on the day or when booking; many operators will drive you to a nearby hilltop to watch the sunset and proceed directly to camp.
Most safari camps provide vegetarian options; confirm dietary needs when you book so the kitchen can accommodate them.
Children are allowed, but dune bashing and camel rides have age and safety considerations—check with the operator about child seats and ride restrictions.
This tour is not recommended for travelers with serious back, heart or pregnancy concerns; opt to stay at camp rather than ride the dunes if advised by a doctor.
The area reflects long-standing Bedouin desert culture—camels were once the primary transport and a measure of wealth, and evening gatherings have long been social and storytelling occasions.
Stay on marked tracks and avoid disturbing vegetation; dune ecosystems are fragile and vehicle traffic should be limited to designated routes.
