The jeep rocks up as the city lights shrink behind you and the desert reaches forward like a warm, breathing expanse. Sand slopes catch the headlights and then dissolve into an orange horizon; the driver angles the vehicle and the dune rises, daring you as the 4x4 surges. Drivers are trained and roll bars are fitted in the private 4x4s, but the ride is intentionally dynamic; it isn’t recommended for pregnant guests or people with serious spinal/cardiac conditions.
Alcohol is typically available at the campsite but may not be served during certain Islamic holidays and during Ramadan; operators will follow local restrictions on those dates.
Children can join most activities, but roller-coaster-style dune bashing is discouraged for very young children (under 6) and infants should sit on a parent’s lap.
