Iguazú National Park was created in the 1930s; the falls lie on lands long associated with the Guaraní people and were later protected for their unique biodiversity and geology.

High visitation strains trails and wildlife; stick to boardwalks, avoid feeding animals, and use refill stations to limit single-use plastics.
