You step into salt-light on a morning drive north from Barcelona — cliffs tightening, pine-scrub slopes leaning toward the sea. The private vehicle eases through coastal towns; the guide points out the coves where the Mediterranean pushes and retreats like a living edge. Off the boat, the water dares you to swim; from the Vila Vella ramparts, the horizon rolls like a slow promise.
