Adventure tips

Plan short walking stopsRequest brief walking stops at attractions you want to enter—this is a driving hire, so door-to-door stops are limited by time and traffic.

Pack weather layersEdinburgh’s weather shifts quickly—bring a waterproof layer and a warm mid-layer even in summer to stay comfortable between stops.

Mind luggage limitsEach booking allows one suitcase and one carry-on per person and oversized items may be restricted—confirm with the operator before booking.

Agree pickup details aheadDecide exact pickup/drop-off locations and timing in advance to avoid delays in busy city center traffic.

Recommended gear

Comfortable walking shoes: Useful for short on-foot explorations of the Royal Mile, Castle esplanade, and viewpoints.
Light waterproof jacket: Protects against sudden rain and wind common in Edinburgh, especially in spring showers.
Camera or smartphone with power bank: Capture views from castle rock, Calton Hill, and the city streets without running out of battery.
Small daypack: Carries water, layers, and any purchases while you step out of the vehicle for short visits.
