easy.
1–2 hours.
Light fitness level; able to sit in a saddle for an hour and mount/dismount from the ground
Riders must be at least 7 years old and at least 46 inches tall to take part in this ride.
Guides generally recommend riders be under about 70 pounds for comfort and safety; you should be able to mount and dismount from the ground.
From July through September the trail often crosses the Gallatin River; river crossings in May and June are limited due to high water and are subject to change.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled start time for check-in and tack fitting; rides may leave without late guests.
No mounting blocks are provided. You must be able to mount and dismount from the ground in case of emergency or adverse conditions.
Guides will alter the route to safe open-field options when water levels are high; the operator recommends the two-hour ride during spring for fuller scenery without crossings.
Gallatin Gateway sits along a long-used corridor into Montana’s ranges and river country and has historically served as a route toward Yellowstone and the valley beyond.
The riparian zone here is sensitive to trampling; follow guides’ directions, pack out waste, and stay on designated paths to protect riverbanks and bird habitat.
