Read the full experience

The boat slips out of the marina and the city’s hard edges fold back: seawall glass, palm trunks, and the low blue of Biscayne Bay stretching toward the horizon. On a private 36–37ft yacht, up to a dozen people shape the day — sightseeing past Star Island mansions, pausing on a shallow sandbar for swimmers, or threading quiet channels where the water dares you to jump in.

History

Biscayne Bay has been a navigable resource since pre-colonial times; 20th-century development turned its shoreline into a mix of industrial ports and upscale waterfront neighborhoods.

Conservation

Seagrass beds and mangroves are fragile — minimize wake near marked zones, use reef-safe products, and avoid anchoring on visible seagrass.

Adventure tips

Arrive 15 minutes earlyMarinas run on tight schedules; arriving early helps with boarding, briefings, and parking before departure.

Bring reef-safe sunscreenSun is strong on open water—use reef-safe SPF to protect skin and the bay’s marine life.

Plan for the captain’s feeThe listing excludes the captain gratuity (typical practice); have cash or a digital payment ready.

Secure loose itemsWind and wake can send small items overboard—store phones and sunglasses in a dry bag or cooler.

Recommended gear

Reef-safe sunscreen: Protects skin and the bay’s sensitive marine ecosystems while exposed to strong sun.
Dry bag: Keeps electronics and wallets safe from spray and accidental submersion.
Non-slip deck shoes: Provides traction on wet surfaces and safer boarding.
Light towel and swimwear: Useful for swims from the boat and for drying off before returning to the dock.
