A private two-hour sail from Puerto Banús traces Marbella’s Golden Mile, passing La Concha, luxury hotels and marina life—ideal for small groups who want an intimate sea view of the coast.
You step off the marina breakwater and the harbor hum drops to a hush as the sailboat slips free. Mega-yachts line Puerto Banús like parked elephants; the engine idles, then the boat finds a steady glide and the coastline opens — palms, low-slung villas and a ridge crowned by La Concha that watches every turn.

This private two-hour cruise traces the Golden Mile, the roughly 7 km stretch between Puerto Banús and Marbella Marina that earned its reputation in the 1960s–70s when developers and celebrities shaped the shoreline with luxury hotels and villas. Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli’s high-rise work, “The Victory,” marks the exit of the port; the red jetty of the Marbella Club and the classic façade of the Hotel Puente Romano are easy to pick out as the town shifts from lush gardens to taller buildings.
Geology here is Mediterranean limestone foothills falling toward a narrow coastal shelf; from sea you see La Concha’s exposed granite ribs and the softer, planted slopes below. Local culture blends Andalucían fishing roots with international leisure — expect a cosmopolitan crowd and marina-side cuisine when you return.
Practically: trips are private, crewed and include bottled water, snacks and alcoholic refreshments; an on-board restroom is standard. The sea is usually calm in the morning, with a light seabreeze in the afternoon. Bring sun protection, non-marking deck shoes and motion-sickness remedies if you’re sensitive. Boarding is straightforward but requires moderate mobility. For safety and comfort, follow crew instructions and respect protected seagrass zones when anchoring for a swim.
moderate.
2 hours.
Moderate level of fitness—able to climb a small boarding ladder, stand and walk on an unsteady deck.
The cruise departs from Puerto Banús marina; boarding details and exact meeting pier are provided at booking or by the operator beforehand.
Bottled water, snacks and some refreshments (beer and white wine) are included; check the operator for any additional catering requests.
Swims are often possible if conditions allow and the crew approves; avoid anchoring on visible seagrass beds (Posidonia) and follow crew guidance for safe entry and exit.
Infants must sit on laps per operator rules; the tour is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health—consult your physician if unsure.
Puerto Banús was developed in 1970 by José Banús and transformed Marbella’s coast into a luxury marina corridor; the Golden Mile grew through private villas and upscale hotels in the mid-20th century.
The area’s Posidonia seagrass beds are ecologically important; avoid anchoring in meadows, take rubbish with you, and use designated waste facilities at the marina.
