You slide into a low-slung Citroën 2CV as the city hums awake — cobblestones rattling under thin tires, the Seine glinting to your left, and the Eiffel Tower punctuating the skyline like a landmark you can almost touch. The driver navigates narrow arrondissements with a practiced ease; windows down, the city’s scents — baking bread, diesel, coffee — ride with you.

Paris grew from the Roman town of Lutetia; its central streets follow river terraces cut into limestone and gypsum, later reshaped by Haussmannian boulevards in the 19th century.
Many central districts are in low-emission zones and pedestrian-priority areas — favor tours that minimize idling and support local businesses to reduce your footprint.
Parisian Road Trip operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
