A pre-dawn pickup from Muscat drops you on the coastal road as sky and sea blur into the same hard blue. The first stop is Bimmah Sinkhole: a sudden bowl of turquoise carved where limestone meets groundwater, its rim a compact frame for slow, reflective photos. From there the road eases east toward the Hajjar foothills, where Wadi Shab cuts a palm-lined groove into rock and tempts you to move through it.

The final section requires swimming between pools and into a crevice cave; basic swimming skills and comfort in open water are recommended.
Turtle nesting is seasonal and weather-dependent; guided night visits improve chances but sightings are not guaranteed.
Families with older children familiar with swimming and uneven terrain can do the trip; infants and those with mobility limits may find parts challenging.
