Planning Tips

Reserve craft early for summer weekends and holidays when demand rises. Choose a canoe for group outings and gear-carrying capacity, or select a tandem kayak for shared paddling and extra storage. Solo paddlers often prefer the sit-on-top single kayaks for easy entry and exit. For families with small children, the Mackinaw canoe's three-seat layout and built-in storage simplify packing and supervision. When booking Oak Harbor river trips, account for shuttle logistics and arrival windows; departures run Thursday through Sunday during the season. Port Clinton visitors can combine a bike rental with a lakeshore ride or a drive to launch points. The paddleboarding with goats experience is best for guests seeking a lighthearted, social outing and wildlife viewing near Judy Island. Always confirm seasonal schedules and reservation requirements before arrival, bring water and sun protection, and wear shoes suitable for shallow river launches and riverbank walks.
