You arrive on a narrow lane with salt on the air and gulls arguing over the last catch; cobbles slope toward a small harbour where the Platt — a low stone quay — gathers people for impromptu shanties. This is Port Isaac: a working fishing village whose streets double as a television set, where the Doc Martin surgery sits above the quay and the pub that hosts the Fisherman’s Friends feels like a character itself.

Comfortable on your feet for several hours, able to manage steep cobbles and short coastal steps
Expect several short walks on cobbles and narrow lanes plus brief coastal paths; the tour is a mix of driving and walking totaling around three hours on foot.
Infants and small children can use strollers on some village streets, but there are steep steps and uneven surfaces at coves where a carrier is more practical.
Yes — the provider can extend to a full day to visit Tintagel, Boscastle or Bodmin Moor for an extra charge; request this when booking.
Bottled water is provided, but pub stops or meals are at your expense; the guide can recommend local pubs and time for lunch.
Port Isaac developed as a pilchard fishing port; many of the stone cottages and narrow lanes reflect its 18th–19th century maritime economy.
The area sits within a sensitive coastal environment — stick to paths, avoid disturbing wildlife and carry out all litter to protect nesting birds and marine life.
