About Us
Family owned and operated since 2021 Boats on the Chain offers one of the widest selections of private rental boats on the Chain O’ Lakes. Offering you a friendly, courteous staff and a clean environment. We welcome you to join us for your relaxing and stress-free summer boating experience.
All of our watercraft are professionally maintained, and safety equipment including life jackets are provided. When you arrive for your reservation, a member of our staff will guide you through rules and safety information on the water. A one-on-one orientation is also included to make sure you are comfortable with the operation of your rental craft.

Important info
- YOU MUST BE 25 YEARS OF AGE to rent/depart with any craft and must produce a valid driver’s license at check-in.
- Persons born on or after January 1, 1998 must have a valid Illinois Boating Safety Certificate. For more information visit https://www.boat-ed.com/illinois/
- Fuel is not included and the fuel cost will be charged at the end of your rental
- No Pets, No BBQs, No Smoking, No Fishing
- Water Sports are allowed on boats
- No one under 25 may drive or operate any craft
- Lessee is responsible for any loss or damage to the rental craft/equipment & contents
- Please arrive 30 minutes before your departure time. It is the customer’s responsibility to be on time for your reservation. No credit will be issued for the late arrival nor can we extend time to compensate.
- $500 damage deposit hold will be put on credit/debit card and refunded after boat is inspected upon return. Like a rental car.
