About

This 8-hour tour will take you to the most popular tourist spots in the Campania Region: Pompeii and Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius.

On the way, your private driver will provide you with general information, including how to spend your free time at each of the 3 scheduled stops:

  • Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a major attraction that brings millions of tourists to our region every year. An ancient and fascinating Roman city that was completely submerged by ash and lava during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Today inside the archaeological site, which covers about 440,000 square meters, one can admire the forum, once the center of the city's political and social life, squares, temples, theaters, stores, buildings and houses with their decorations, mosaics, paintings and everyday objects.

  • Herculaneum: Although less famous than the ruins of Pompeii, the archaeological ruins of Herculaneum are just as important and have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius submerged the city in a pyroclastic cloud that, unlike Pompeii, prevented materials such as wood and textiles from decomposing. As you visit the ruins of Herculaneum, you will find yourself walking through the streets of an ancient Roman city, where you can admire buildings and houses with jewelry, furnishings, sumptuous colorful mosaics, wall paintings and marble facings. The Villa of the Papyri, built overlooking the sea, contained more than 1,800 papyri and extraordinary sculptures.

  • Vesuvius: Visiting Vesuvius means traveling through history, geology and nature, in fact this land is a combination of natural beauty, breathtaking scenery, ancient vegetation and traditions that make this area one of the most fascinating and visited places in the world. This area has become the Vesuvius National Park, created to preserve local flora, fauna and biodiversity. Once you reach the top of the crater, which is more than 200 meters deep, you can enjoy spectacular views of the entire Bay of Naples. Today, Vesuvius' activity is constantly monitored by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, as an ongoing eruption would be devastating given the presence, on its slopes and nearby, of millions of homes.
