Comfortable mobility is required; participants should tolerate bumps and be able to climb in/out of a buggy and hold steady during rough sections.
Tours typically seat one or two per buggy depending on booking; confirm at reservation for single-driver options and licensing requirements.
Most operators set minimum age limits for drivers and passengers; participants should be able to climb into the vehicle and tolerate off-road motion—pregnant guests and those with spinal or heart conditions are usually not permitted.
Policies vary; some operators allow guests to drive after a briefing without a formal license, while others require a valid driving license — check at booking.
The marketed driving portion is about 60 minutes, but pickups, safety briefings, transfers, and stops expand the total time commitment to 2–4 hours.
The dunes sit on windblown sands deposited over millennia; Bedouin groups traversed these routes for trade and grazing before motorized travel reshaped access.
Stick to marked or operator-approved tracks to limit erosion and protect fragile vegetation; choose licensed operators who follow local land-use rules.
