About

This is an intensive 18-hour classroom instructed course that is specifically designed to help you pass the plumbing code state exam. Topics covered include trade safety practices, basic construction print reading, basic shop math, and the Uniform Plumbing Code (chapters 1-11).

This course is specifically for those individuals who have been in the trade a number of years but who have been unprepared, uncomfortable, or unable to pass the plumbing state exam to obtain their license, or for anyone who is interested in learning more about the code.

Instructor:

Brad Harding owns and operates Harding’s Plumbing and Heating. He was the Plumbing Instructor at the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT). Prior to his teaching at BRCOT, he was the Plumbing Code Instructor at Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) for four years. Brad was the PHCC National Plumbing Instructor of the Year 2014. The instructor is a master plumber, oil burner technician, propane and natural gas technician and is EPA Certified. He has a BA from USM and is a graduate of PRVTC Plumbing Program. Brad has over 30 years of field experience.

Course Materials

It's recommended each student has a copy of the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) Book. The state test is based on the 2015 edition. The 2009, 2015, or 2018 edition is sufficient.
