Moderate fitness required—able to manage steep stairs, short uphill sections, and several viewpoint climbs.
The route is approximately three miles and typically takes 2–3 hours including interpretive stops.
The hike begins at the Guyasuta/Washington statue by the intersection of Grandview Ave and Sweetbriar street.
Children are welcome but the hike may be difficult for younger kids; minimum recommended age is 10 and all children must be accompanied by a guardian.
PRT route 40 serves the area; you can also take the Duquesne Incline from Station Square or use the Monongahela Incline as an access option.
Bring water, closed-toed shoes, weather-appropriate layers, and a camera for the overlooks.
