Duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes

The museum takes place through the daily life of the Grand Dukes of the Medici family, from Cosimo I to the last descendants (early 700s), Ferdinando, Gian Gastone and Anna Maria Luisa, also known as the Electress Palatine to whom it is dedicated the museum.

Inside the gallery, there are also works of art concerning the families that succeeded the Medici family, from the Asburgo Lorena up to the first King of Italy with attached Royal apartments. In addition to the civic and political function of the rooms, the museum also houses a private collection of paintings, ancient statues, Florentine furniture and mosaics of inestimable beauty and historical importance, not to mention the frescoes that decorate the ceilings and walls. The Palace's main attractions are the Palatine Gallery, the Royal Apartments, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Treasure of the Grand Dukes and the Museum of Fashion and Costume. At the end of the visit, the guide will give you the priority entrance ticket for the Boboli Garden which is located behind the Palace and represents a real open-air museum, populated by ancient and Renaissance statues, adorned with caves and large fountains. The garden is an integral part of the Pitti Palace and can be visited freely.
