They are part of an area called the Tufo Archaeological Park characterized by canyons trapped between suggestive and steep walls of tuff.

Visit Pitigliano, a small Tuscan village! It is positioned and carved into a Bluff and is simply extraordinary. The high walls of volcanic tuff, carved into a thousand of caves, features a series of tower-houses, thus heightening the picturesque feel of this medieval town.

Pitigliano is also known as “Little Jerusalem” Famous for its quaint narrow streets, the Jewish neighborhood is almost 500 years old and there is still a synagogue, kosher shops and all the ancient traditions make it the most characteristic and charming section of the town.
