Who is this course for?

If you've fired less than a few hundred rounds in your lifetime, this is a great place to start. Get comfortable handling and using a firearm. Fundamentals aren't just for those new to firearms. Even seasoned shooters benefit from revisiting core skills and refining their techniques.

If this is your first time with Staccato Vegas training, this course is the ideal entry point. It’s not just basic instruction—each visit allows you to enhance your abilities while exploring different aspects of our campus.

Objective

Our goal in this course is to build or fine tune your technique and form as well as teaching safety and situational awareness.

Outline

  • Safety and situational awareness that would allow you to safely handle firearms in close proximity to others and not just on a range.
  • Belt/Holster setup.
  • Working from a holster.
  • Fundamentals of grip, stance, trigger pull, and recoil management.
  • Reloads and malfunctions.
  • Marksmanship fundamentals at distances up to 25 yards.
  • Buddy coaching and self-coaching.

Equipment List (rentals available)

Please wear long pants and close toed shoes.

  • Hearing protection.
  • Eye protection.
  • Full size or compact semi-automatic pistol or revolver.
  • 3 magazines or speed loaders.
  • Belt and magazine pouches.
  • Outside the waistband, strong side hip holster.
