The day begins with a cool van ride out of Phuket and the rainforest pressing close—humidity lifting off the road like a living curtain. At Wat Suwan Kuha (Monkey Cave), sunlight slices through the cave mouth and macaques patrol the stone steps; the temple feels carved into time. A bamboo raft slides out onto a slow river, the current nudging you forward as palms lean in to inspect the passing boat. Later the river tightens and the 7km white-water section picks up speed, water daring you around low rocks and narrow bends.
