Philae was a major cult center for Isis; after the Aswan High Dam construction, UNESCO coordinated the temple’s relocation to higher ground to protect it from flooding.
Relocation saved Philae, but tourism and Nile management still affect fragile riverine ecosystems—use local guides, minimize plastic, and support community-run workshops to help the local economy.
