A bell chimes over Lille’s Grand Place and a child swivels toward the square’s red brick facades — the game begins. Teams of up to six follow a mobile app that nudges them through alleys, across cobbles that dare your step, past the Vieille Bourse and under the shadow of Palais Rihour.
