You step off the minivan as coastal wind pulls at your hat and the Pacific spreads cold and argent before you. Zapallar’s headlands drop into plank-straight beaches and low dunes; gulls argue overhead while the guide folds a blanket for the picnic. Later, a short boat ride nudges you toward a small rocky islet where penguins bob like punctuation marks in the surf.
