About This Adventure

Join our exclusive sunset paddle tour through the enchanting bayou, where you'll uncover the intriguing connections between pelicans and pirates. This guided adventure offers a unique blend of history and nature, as you navigate the serene waters of Galveston Bay, exploring the refuge of notorious figures and wildlife alike.

Pelicans and pirates have more in common than you might think. Come join our swarthy crew of kayakers for this limited time, guided sunset paddle tour. Together we will explore the bayou and discuss how the historic backwaters of Galveston Bay provided the perfect refuge for notorious ne'er-do wells and plundering pelicans alike.

Know before you go:

• Participants should arrive at Armand Bayou Nature Center promptly at 3:00pm. Kayaks will leave the launch site at approximately 3:30pm. • The tour will be approximately 2-3 miles round trip. • Each kayak will hold 1 person. • Participants should be able to lift 30 lbs and paddle for 2.5 hours. • Participants are required to wear life jackets, which will be provided. • The weight limit for our kayaks is 375 pounds. • The max capacity for our this tour is currently 12 people. • Participants must be 16 or older and an adult must accompany children under 18. • Reservations must be made in advance and payment is required at the time of reservation.

Arrive Early to Get Comfortable

Arrive 15 minutes before your tour to meet your guides and get comfortable with your kayak and gear.

Wear Sunscreen and Protective Clothing

Even on cloudy days, UV exposure near water can be strong—apply waterproof sunscreen and wear a hat.
