The bike hums to life on Grey Street, pedal seats creaking as a dozen voices raise a toast and the River Tyne slips by, daring you to slow down. Riders pedal in time while an English-speaking guide points out the Monument, Eldon Square and the old train station — the city’s brickwork and bridges passing like chapters.

Newcastle developed from a Roman fort to a medieval wool and coal hub; 19th-century shipbuilding along the Tyne propelled the city’s industrial growth.
Keep litter off streets and quays; the Tyne benefits from local clean-up efforts and responsible public drinking helps reduce environmental and social impacts.
