Skipton Castle Woods This car park is a short walking distance from the town centre and the canal tow path which leads to the main entrance of the woods at The Old Sawmill (approximately 1/4 a mile away). We recommend this route for first time visitors however it's also useful to know that parking at the castle provides direct access to the upper path in the woodland through The Bailey Entrance. You will find this entrance gate by leaving the car park on foot and turning left.
