You stand on the rim of Gotschnagrat as the ridge wind teases the wing, the valley below opening into a checkerboard of pastures and dark conifer slopes. The pilot runs a short, practiced sprint; the wing fills and lifts you free. For 15–35 minutes the Swiss air carries you above Davos-Klosters, the mountain faces close enough to read the striations in the rock and the streams daring you to follow their descent.
moderate.
2 hours.
Moderate fitness—ability to run a few steps at launch and follow pilot instructions; not suitable for those with major back or heart conditions.
Total excursion time is about 120 minutes from meeting to return; actual airtime is typically 15–35 minutes depending on conditions.
Passengers must generally weigh between 25 and 115 kg; not recommended for children under about 6 years—confirm exact limits with the operator when booking.
Flights are cancelled in unsuitable weather (strong winds, storms); you can receive a full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours before departure or if the operator cancels due to conditions.
No prior paragliding experience is required—pilots provide a safety briefing and handle launch, flight, and landing during a tandem ride.
Klosters evolved from high-alpine farming settlements into a 19th-century resort; ski infrastructure later opened ridgelines like Gotschnagrat for year-round access.
Pilots follow local regulations to avoid nesting areas and minimize disturbance; stick to marked approaches and avoid leaving litter to protect fragile alpine habitats.
Air-Davos Paragliding operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
