Fog lifts off the jungle as the first tubes clack together on the riverbank — the Pakerisan nudges you forward, playful then insistent. You push off beneath a canopy of broad-leaf trees, current easing you through narrow gorges and then testing balance over short, punchy rapids. Ripples throw light like coin; cliffs of dark volcanic rock lean in, and temple shrines peek from terraces above.
easy.
2 hours.
Suitable for most people comfortable with short physical activity; requires basic mobility for getting in/out of tubes.
The guided tubing portion runs about 2 hours door-to-door for the activity itself; transport and prep are additional time.
No strong swimming skills are required — life jackets are provided and guides assist at tricky sections — but basic comfort in water helps.
Yes — private, air-conditioned pickup from Ubud is included as part of the tour package.
Operators will cancel for unsafe river conditions; the policy typically allows full refunds if canceled at least 24 hours in advance or for weather-based cancellations.
The Pakerisan runs through volcanic terrain shaped by eruptions and erosion; rivers here have long supported temple rituals and Bali’s ancient subak irrigation networks.
Stay on the guides’ paths, avoid single-use plastics, and use reef-safe sunscreen to minimize impacts on freshwater and downstream coastal ecosystems.
