Course Description

This program is intended for incoming program students. The Open Water Diver Referral program allows you to start your independent self-study and pool work from the comfort of your home and local dive shop and complete your checkout training dives in a different part of the world.


What is involved?

Dive California offers you course flexibility to complete your 4 open-water training dives here in sunny San Diego. You will need two days to complete the course (two open-water dives per day). Each certification dive will be conducted under the direct supervision of an experienced scuba instructor. This will allow you to apply the skills you mastered in the pool, now demonstrating your ability as a safe and confident Open open-water diver. In our Dive California Referral Course, you will receive ample personal attention and training due to our private one-on-one student-instructor ratio to ensure the highest quality training experience possible.


Course Requirements

• Proof of completed academic online self-study and pool/confined water training • Minimum 13 years of age to participate in ocean checkout dives • Course paid in full at enrollment • Complete waivers and medical form

• 2-Day open-water training (4-ocean dives) with private one-on-one instruction • Your instructor will transport all rental gear to the dive site. • All required scuba equipment • PADI/SDI/RAID open water diver certification processing after successful completion
