A warm morning in Sanur finds new divers tightening masks and listening to instructors whose voices carry over the harbor. The air smells of salt and diesel; the ocean in the distance dares you to learn its rhythms. Over three days students move from the calm of a training pool at the Coral Triangle Center to the open, clear platforms of Nusa Lembongan, then to the dramatic shallow slopes off Tulamben where the WWII USAT Liberty waits beneath the surface.
