Rapid moving water, quick & narrow turns, hanging branches and other obstacles make this a wild yet fun trip. The tipsy rate is higher than the lower Platte and the launch is fast and furious ! The river and fauna on this trip are breathtaking and worth getting wet for! Beware there is a 50% chance of tipping over!
Kayak Rental
We offer single and double Kayaks for all trips. A Kayak is a bit less tipsy and easier to maneuver than a canoe. Beware there is a 50% chance of tipping over!
Crystal Kayak
Due to the nature of the river, rapid current and rough bottoms, Crystal Kayaks are not available to rent for the Upper Platte Trips.
Stand Up Paddle Board
Not for the faint at heart but can be done! It's more like paddle surfing. Experience required.
River conditions can vary seasonally; confirm current water levels and flow rates for a safe trip.
Exposed river sections offer little shade; sun protection is important during midday paddling.
Keep your essentials and electronics dry by using a waterproof bag during your canoe trip.
