The Canning River flows across the Swan Coastal Plain and lies on the traditional lands of Noongar people; European settlement later reshaped riverbanks and wetlands for agriculture and urban use.
Urban runoff and invasive plants stress these wetlands — follow guide instructions to avoid disturbing wildlife, pack out litter, and use provided facilities to reduce impact.
