About This Adventure

Embark on a thrilling 15 km canoe or kayak journey starting from Camp Děčín, navigating through the stunning Bohemian Switzerland National Park. Experience Europe’s deepest sandstone canyon and explore the charming village of Schmilka, with options to bike or return by train, making this adventure both unique and unforgettable.

Děčín - Schmilka 15 km / 3.5 h

Your tour starts at Camp Děčín, where we will hand you a canoe or a kayak, paddle and a dry bag. There will be a short briefing on-site. This trip is a 15 km long pleasant ride and you can reach neighboring Germany in 3 hours. During the tour, you will be amazed by the fabulous Bohemian Switzerland National Park from the water surface in the deepest sandstone canyon in Europe. The handover point is located on the right river bank of the picturesque village of Schmilka, directly at the ferry station. There you can visit a local microbrewery or cafe with breathtaking views.

Option with bikes

After you reach the handover point at the ferry on the right bank, we will take the boat from you and give you the bikes. Then you will reach the left bank of the Elbe Cycle Route by ferry. Don't forget the 2 € in cash/per person (including the bike)! If you want to visit the nearby spa town of Bad Schandau, you can also use the cycle path on the right bank. The bikes must be returned by 6 pm at the Kemp Decin reception. We charge 300 CZK for late returns.

Option to return by train

We will take the boat and all the equipment from you after you reach the handover point at the ferry on the right bank. To return by train, the ferry in Schmilka will take you to the other side of the river where the train station Schmilka-Hirschmühle is. Don't forget the 1,50 € in cash/per person for the ferry.
