About This Adventure

Embark on an exciting journey into stand-up paddleboarding with expert instructors dedicated to your safety and enjoyment. This engaging session covers essential skills like paddle technique and water safety, ensuring you gain confidence on the water. Enjoy calmer morning conditions and personalized attention, making your first experience truly memorable.

First time on a board? Want to build confidence? Keen to learn how to paddle properly and be safe? This session is for you!


Rates

1 hour Adult (Aged 16+): $60 for one hour lesson Child (Aged Under 16): $50 for one hour lesson

2 hours Adult (Aged 16+): $80 for two hours (1hr lesson, 1 hr practice) Child (Aged Under 16): $70 for two hours (1hr lesson, 1 hr practice) Children must be closely supervised by an adult for the second half of the session.

About

With a focus on safety and fun, we will teach you the skills required to start your journey into the world of SUP. Mornings are best, with calmer conditions and smaller crowds and our fully qualified SNZ/ISA accredited instructors will have you up and paddling in no time. The session will include:

  • Introduction to boards and equipment
  • SUP safety and handling
  • Conditions and environment
  • Stance and positioning
  • Paddle technique – forward, turning, braking
  • Intro to water safety and self rescue

Please arrive 10 minutes early to kit up, sign in and be briefed. If you are bringing your own board, please allow enough time to pump it up or set it up - it takes longer than you think!

If the wind is too strong to be safe on the ocean, we will contact you in advance to move your booking.

Arrive Early to Get Ready

Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your lesson to sign in, get kitted up, and be briefed so you can start promptly.

Choose quick-drying layers or swimwear to stay comfortable both on and off the board.
