You step out of the MONTEVIA base and the Isar meets you like a living thing—cool current tugging at the bow, tree-shadowed banks that change expression with every bend. The first strokes are gentle, gliding past gravel bars and alder roots; later the river dares you with splashy waves and a short, voluntary white-water shoot at Isarburg (grade III).
