This 20-mile adventure begins at the Eshback access, the perfect spot to launch kayaks and canoes, and ends at the famous Delaware Water Gap, a well-known point of interest in the Kittatinny Ridge that has been attracting visitors for many years.
The best way to see the Delaware Water Gap is by water, and you’ll really feel like you earned it after two days of paddling from Eshback. During your Poconos canoeing and kayaking trip, you’ll see plenty of local wildlife that flourishes in northeastern Pennsylvania, like birds and bald eagles, deer, and more.
Look for islands in the river, like Tocks, Labar, Depew, Poxano, and more. We’ll also pass several bars, like the Buck Bar, about a mile south of the Eshback access. You can see parks and recreation areas along the river, beaches, and other attractions.
This trip is on the short side in the spring when the water flows are higher, and the trip can be a little longer for some when the water drops to summer levels, but a visit at any time of the year is sure to be a pleasant experience.
