About

Enjoy the open water, sweeping views, and the scenic NY Skyline on this 2 hour Hudson River Crossing Kayak or SUP Adventure. We will launch from Pier 13, practice kayaking or paddleboarding skills, review on-water safety practices, and then kayak or paddleboard across the river towards the protected embayment at Pier 84. The group will be able to paddle right up to the hull of the Intrepid for amazing views of the carrier itself plus its nearby submarine and planes on display. After photos and a floating rest stop, the group will head head back across to Pier 13, Hoboken. This tour takes place both in a protected embayment on the Hoboken side and out in the more active waters of the Hudson River.

The tour follows the American Canoe Association curriculum and industry standards for risk management. The “challenge by choice” model will be used to ensure comfort while allowing each person to participate at his or her own level and develop skills at his or her own speed. This is an intermediate-level tour. Prior sea kayak experience or paddleboard experience is needed for this open water tour. If you are new to kayaking or paddleboarding try one of our shorter shoreline tours or beginner lessons first to build up some skills. Then join in on the fun of crossing the Hudson River by kayak or paddleboard!
