This guided two-hour loop covers about 5 km around the seaward face of Old Town. Expect close passages by the walls, photo stops toward Lokrum Island, and a visit to Betina Cave beach — a small grotto-accessible sand crescent ideal for snorkeling. The coastline here is karst limestone sculpted into cliffs, caves and reefs; underwater, Posidonia meadows shelter small fish and sea urchins. Guides pair local history with geology: the walls and Lazareti quarantine complex speak to Dubrovnik’s maritime republic past and the city’s centuries-long trade and defensive strategies.
Operationally, the operator provides double kayaks, life vests, paddles, snorkel kit and 30L waterproof bags; a 0.5L bottled water is included. There’s no elevation gain but you’ll paddle in open water with occasional chop and possible short swims at stops. Arrive 20–30 minutes early at Pile Square, be able to swim, wear swimwear and water shoes, and pack sun protection. If wind or sea state worsens the route or time may change; sunset departures include a glass of wine and richer light for photos. Travel light — dry space aboard is limited.
