About This Adventure

Join the I ♥️ Oakland Alameda Estuary Cleanup on November 9, 2025, for a unique opportunity to paddle and clean up the beautiful shores of Jack London Square. Experience teamwork while navigating hard-to-reach areas, all while enjoying the outdoors and making a positive impact on the environment. Bring your sturdy shoes and enthusiasm!

This event will be held on the following day:

  • Sunday, November 9, 2025

EVENT MUST-HAVES:

  • MOST IMPORTANT: Wear shoes with sturdy soles to protect your feet when you walk and paddle the shores. Avoid any sharps on the shores.
  • BRING Water, snacks, sunscreen, an extra layer, and sturdy shoes (even if you are paddling). We'll have cleanup supplies on site, but feel free to bring your gloves/buckets/bags.

FITNESS LEVEL:

We appreciate your support. We will paddle to hard-to-reach places to pick up trash. Good physical condition is required to ensure an enjoyable day which will include the following activities. If you would like to discuss physical requirements, please contact 5102834224

  1. Minimum age for Single kayak is 15 or 12 for double. Minor must be accompany by a legal guardian.
  2. Entering and exiting your watercraft multiple times. (Require, bending, crouching, kneeling, and )
  3. Walking on slippery/rocky shores.
  4. Paddling up to 6+ miles. Recent paddling experience is strongly encouraged.
  5. Able to Bend and Lift heavy trash and refuse.

SCHEDULE:

-8:00 AM ARRIVE at 409 Water Street, California Canoe & Kayak, Check in Sign Waiver

  • 8:00-8:15--gearing up 
  • 8:15-8:30 Launch paddle as a group to JLAC - Lead by Davina
  • The distance from CCK DOCK to JLAC, is approximately 3/4 mile.
  • No later than 10:00 AM arrive at JACK LONDON AQUATIC CENTER for Final Briefing by Mary Spicer
  • 12:00 PM Paddle Back to CCK
