You push through a gate and the farm exhales: cool earth, the distant clink of barrels and a ridge of vineyards folding into the Drakenstein hills. Horses pick their way along farm tracks, then lengthen into trot and canter where the slope opens, the wind pushing you forward as vineyards unfurl to the valley below.

Comfortable riding fitness: able to sit trot and canter for sustained periods, with basic core strength and no serious back or heart conditions.
The trail is a full-day experience (approximately 6–8 hours on the saddle) with a mix of walking, trotting, cantering and brief gallops depending on group ability and terrain.
Two wine tastings or pairings at selected estates are included subject to availability; alcohol is served only to guests 18 or older in line with South African law.
Groups run 2–15 riders; you must provide full names, ages, weights and riding experience when booking so guides can allocate suitable horses.
The activity is weather-dependent; if canceled for safety, you’ll be offered an alternative date or full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours in advance per the operator’s policy.
