Leave from Tallowa Dam around mid-morning to paddle up the Shoalhaven River and through the magnificent sandstone gorge. After paddling for 3-4 hours you have the choice of establishing your campsite at numerous spots around Fossickers Flat. (National Parks toilets located at some camping spots). Immerse yourself in the amazing surrounds and watch the brilliant stars at night. Strike camp mid-morning the next day to arrive back at Tallowa Dam for your pickup just after lunch. Extra nights can be added to the expedition.
Participants are provided with well-maintained, high quality kayaks or canoes, paddles and lifejackets.
Trails wind across rocky sandstone and through uneven forest paths—good footwear is essential.
Camping under the stars means navigating around camp at night; a headlamp keeps you safe and hands-free.
Carry enough water as natural sources may be scarce or unsafe for drinking.
Keep a safe distance from animals and avoid disturbing plant life to preserve the area’s natural balance.
