You arrive as the city thins and the road gives way to wind-shaped sand; headlights pick out dune crests that rise and fall like a slow ocean. The 4x4 snarls up a slope, the driver times the drop, and for a moment the dunes push and pull you through a raw landscape where the sky feels closer.
