Adventure tips

Hydrate before you arriveBring at least 1–2 liters of water per person and drink steadily—desert air is dry and heat can sneak up on you.

Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoesLoose sand and dune slopes demand good traction—sandals aren’t ideal for climbs or sandboarding.

Plan for sunset photosSunset on the high dunes offers the best light and cooler temperatures; schedule dune walks 60–90 minutes before sunset.

Respect local customsDress modestly in public areas and accept cultural activities (henna, coffee) with courteous interest; staff will guide appropriate behavior.

Recommended gear

Reusable water bottle (1–2 L): Staying hydrated is crucial in the desert’s dry heat.
Closed-toe shoes or light hiking shoes: Protects feet from hot sand and gives traction on dunes.
Headlamp or flashlight: Camp courtyards and paths are dim after dark; helpful for moving to facilities.
High-SPF sunscreen and lip balm: Sun protection for exposed skin during daytime activities.
