You step off the skiff onto a narrow beach and the rainforest takes the lead — vines tugging at the morning humidity, toucans scolding from high limbs, and the surf at Golfo Dulce marking where sea gives way to primary jungle. The walk to Sirena Ranger Station is short—about 2 km—but each bend can rearrange the day: a troop of howler monkeys, a flash of hummingbird, or the distant bruise of a tapir moving through understory.
