About This Adventure

Join a unique six-week gentle stretching series in a beautiful garden setting, where each session is inspired by nature. Experience breath, stillness, and movement through themed practices, from grounding postures to restorative poses. Perfect for all levels, this outdoor program offers a refreshing way to connect with nature and yourself.

Tuesdays September 2 - October 7, 5:30 - 6:15 PM (6 weeks)

Explore a different part of the garden each week through gentle, music-guided movement inspired by nature. Each session will take place in a partially or fully shaded outdoor space, with a theme inspired by a specific garden location. This six-week program blends breath, stillness, and stretching. There is a backup indoor location in case of extreme weather.

Weekly Themes & Locations:

  • Week 1: Rooted in Stillness (Bald Cyprus Allee) -- Roots, stillness, stability, grounding, strength -- Connecting to earth through steady standing postures and slow breaths
  • Week 2: Growing with Grace (Campanile Garden) -- Growth, symmetry, openness, expansion -- Practicing presence through gentle heart-openers and balance
  • Week 3: Flow Like Water (Sycamore Falls) -- Movement, flowing -- Connecting movement to breathwork
  • Week 4: Rest in the Field (Children's Garden) -- Rest, softness, sensory -- Body scans and noticing scents and sounds in the garden through restorative poses
  • Week 5: Illuminate from Within (#PRISMA/Herb Garden) -- Energy, transformation, Inner radiance -- Breath inspired movement and color visualization
  • Week 6: Rooted in Resilience (Jones Rose Garden) -- Strength, resilience, gratitude -- Gratitude and inner strength throughout the flow and heart centered breathing

No experience needed. Open to ages 12 and up.

Important Notes:

  • Participants must bring their own mat or towel to each class.
  • Please note that participants will need to complete a Wellness Program Liability Waiver.pdf to participate. You may bring it with you to the first class, or email it to rgeducation@iastate.edu.
