The van eases out of Orlando International's bustle and the highway opens eastward: palmettos and salt flats blur past as the Atlantic's blue edge peeks over the dunes. In an hour the port's cranes, cruise funnels and the blackened scars of launch pads at Kennedy Space Center come into view — the ride is short but conspicuous, trading airport lights for ship horns and ocean wind.
