Check the tide schedule

Bring insect repellent

Maryland's marshy areas attract mosquitoes, especially during warmer months—repellent keeps your excursion comfortable.

Wear layered clothing

Weather can shift quickly near the water; layers help you stay comfortable from cool mornings to warm afternoons.

Use a waterproof bag for gear

Protect your essentials from splashes and potential submersion during paddle sports with a dry bag.
