This handy alternative route allows you to eliminate study time from your vacation by completing all of the classroom theory in advance, so while you are on holiday, you can focus on the fun part of getting under water and exploring everything to be found beneath the water's surface!

Instead of spending 4-5 days of your holiday studying and practicing scuba skills in a pool, you'll arrive with the majority of your PADI Open Water Diver Course already complete.

We also accept referral students wishing to complete their Open Water Ocean Training Dives with us, here in Monterey Bay! The cost is the same, whether you are beginning or completing you course with us.

Private classes are available by request.

The Open Water Diver course consists of three phases:

  1. Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving
  2. Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
  3. Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

Referral Out

  • Includes phases 1 & 2. Complete phase 3 at another location.

Referral In

  • Complete your certification with us (phase 3) after beginning your training (phase 1 & 2) elsewhere.

Prerequisites:

  • 10 years old or older
  • Ability to swim
  • Good physical health
  • PADI e-Learning must be complete prior to the first day of class.

Scheduling

Standard Open Water Referral Out (Classroom and Pool only): Take place either the first Sunday of each month or the Friday following the first Sunday, both starting at 7 AM. You will finish around 5 PM.

Standard Open Water Referral In (Ocean only): Take place on the Saturday & Sunday following the first Sunday of each month, starting at 7 AM. You will finish around 2 PM.
