You step off the overnight bus before dawn and the limestone ridges of Phong Nha-Ke Bang rise like a folded wall ahead, streaked with morning mist. The trail leads quickly from village lanes into karst slopes where dripstone architecture grows into caverns—first Paradise Cave, an underground hall that stretches as long as a cathedral, then the raw, darker throat of Hang Tối where the Chay River dares you to play.

The day runs about 10–12 hours: morning transfer to Paradise Cave, midday lunch, afternoon Dark Cave zipline, kayak and mud-bath, then drop-off in Phong Nha or Dong Hoi.
